  1. Coptic people – a Christian ethnoreligious group indigenous to North Africa, descendant from Ancient Egyptians.
  2. Demotics – the ancient Egyptian script derived from northern forms of hieratic used in the Nile Delta
  3. Ennead – a group of nine deities in Egyptian mythology worshipped at Heliopolis: the sun god Atum; his children Shu and Tefnut; their children Geb and Nut; and their children Osiris, Isis, Set, and Nephthys.
  4. Heliopolian cosmology – the creation myth promulgated in the city of Heliopolis( Iunu), was centered around the personality of Atum.
  5. Hellenistic period covers the time in Mediterranean history after Classical Greece, between the death of Alexander the Great in 323 BC to the death of Cleopatra VII (30 BC)
  6. Henotheism – a term popularized by Max Müller to denote the worship of a primary god or gods that does not deny the existence or possible existence of other deities.
  7. Hermopolian cosmology – the creation myth promulgated in the city of Hermopolis (Khemenu), was centered around the set of eight primordial  gods, called the Ogdoad.
  8. Hieratic writing – a simplified cursive writing system in Ancient Egypt.
  9. Hieroglyphics – the formal writing system in Ancient Egypt that combined logographic, syllabic and alphabetic elements.
  10. Middle Kingdom – the period in the history of ancient Egypt lasted from approximately 2040 to 1782 BC, stretching from the reunification of Egypt under the reign of Mentuhotep II in the Eleventh Dynasty to the end of the Twelfth Dynasty.
  11. Monolatry – the belief in the existence of many gods, but with the consistent worship of only one deity.
  12. Monotheism – the belief that there is only one deity, an all-supreme being that is universally referred to as God.
  13. New Kingdom (also known as the Egyptian Empire) – the period in ancient Egyptian history between the sixteenth century BC and the eleventh century BC, covering the Eighteenth, Nineteenth, and Twentieth dynasties of Egypt.
  14. Ogdoad – four couples of primordial deities venerated in Hermopolis (Nu/Naunet; Hehu/Hehut; Kekui/Kekuit;Qerh/Qerhet).
  15. Polytheism – the belief in multiple deities, which are usually assembled into a pantheon of gods and goddesses, along with their own religious sects and rituals.
  16. Religion – a set of organized beliefs, practices, and systems that most often relate to the belief and worship of a controlling force, such as a personal god or another supernatural being.
  17. The Old Kingdom – is the period spanning c. 2700–2200 BC. It is also known as the «Age of the Pyramids» or the «Age of the Pyramid Builders».
